Decodable Fluency Passages is a sequenced set of decodable reading passages for kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade intervention. Every story is written with phonics skills students have already learned, so children practice real decoding instead of guessing from pictures.
The 20 passages are organized into 10 units that follow a clear phonics progression: the five short vowels, the FLOSS rule and ck, digraphs sh, ch and th, beginning blends, ending blends with ng and nk, and finally silent e. A scope and sequence shows the skills and heart words in each unit.
Before reading a story, students warm up on a Blend & Build page with Tap and Read sound dots, word chains, Read and Draw sentences and dictation. Thirty-one heart word cards introduce the irregular words each unit needs.
Each passage is a 58 to 76 word decodable story with running word counts on every line, warm-up words, a Read-3-Times fluency tracker, a 1-minute fluency box, three multiple-choice comprehension questions and a Draw Your Favorite Part box. My Fluency Graph lets students chart progress across all 20 passages.
A 10-week plan with a daily routine, a Super Reader Award and answer keys that include the word chains and dictation make this 39-page PDF ready for Science of Reading and structured literacy classrooms, guided reading, small groups, RTI and MTSS, tutoring, homework and homeschool.
