Editable Word Work Activities is a fillable PDF of sight word and spelling practice for kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. You type up to ten words on one entry page, and those words fill in automatically across the whole resource, sized to fit and centered on each page.
Sixteen activities give children many ways to practice the same list. Some focus on writing, like Rainbow Write, Pyramid Write, Trace, Write & Box It and Write It With Different Tools. Others build word knowledge, such as ABC Order, Vowel Detective, Secret Code Writer and Write a Sentence. Games like Roll & Write, Spin & Write, Tic-Tac-Toe, Memory Match and the Word Race Board Game keep word work centers lively.
Two levels share the same entry page. Level 1 uses five-word lists and simpler layouts for beginning readers, while Level 2 uses ten-word lists with extended practice and additional word pages. Gray trace words support children who are still forming letters, and every page can be printed blank for handwritten lists.
Weekly routines are covered too. A Word Work Choice Board, homework pages, take-home word lists and spelling pretest and test pages fit a typical spelling week, and a one-week study plan shows how to pace it. Teacher notes include troubleshooting tips, and the answer key fills itself when opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Use the 47 pages for spelling, sight words, vocabulary and word families in literacy centers, morning work, homework, small groups, intervention and homeschool.
