Halloween STEM Challenges: Pumpkin Catapult, Ghost Parachute and Fall Party Stations for K–5th Grade
4 Halloween engineering challenges for K–5: pumpkin launcher, ghost parachute, cauldron boat and mummy tower, with K–2 and 3–5 recording pages.
Bubbling brews, jumping spiders and gummy worms that grow overnight bring real science into October. Six experiments, each with two guided lab pages, walk students through questions, predictions, data and conclusions.

Fun Halloween Science Experiments is an October STEM resource for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade with six hands-on investigations. Each one wraps a real science concept in a Halloween theme, so students stay curious while they practice the scientific method.
The experiments cover a wide range of science. A bubbling witch's brew explores chemical reactions, jumping paper spiders show static electricity, a pumpkin patch sink or float test looks at density and buoyancy, an egg soaked in vinegar becomes a bouncy eyeball, gummy worms grow through osmosis, and a spider web challenge asks students to engineer a design.
Every experiment has two guided lab pages. Students write a question, make a prediction, record data and observations and draw a conclusion, which builds the same habits of thinking each time. A Be a Scientist! poster lays out the steps, and a Spooky Science Words page supports vocabulary.
Teachers get a three-page guide with expected results, a short science explanation for each experiment and safety notes, plus a materials checklist and a Lab Safety Rules poster. Six station signs and a one-week plan with a station rotation option make it easy to run the experiments as centers or as whole-class demonstrations.
The 27 black and white pages end with a Spooktacular Scientist Award. They work for Halloween STEM days, October science, STEM stations, enrichment, homeschool and science sub plans.

The teacher guide explains expected results and the science behind them, which makes it easy to lead a real discussion afterward.
