Fall Friends in Disguise is a bundle of six fall writing crafts for PreK, kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade. Students take a familiar fall object, such as a pumpkin, apple, acorn, maple leaf, pinecone or ghost, disguise it as a brand-new character and then write about it. It blends art, imagination and early writing in one seasonal project.
Each fall friend has four pages. An illustrated idea gallery shows six possible disguises to spark thinking, and a large craft template gives students plenty of room to decorate. Two writing pages follow: a sentence frame page for PreK and kindergarten, and a story writing page for grades 1 and 2 with a beginning, middle and end organizer.
The bundle is designed to last the whole season. A 6-week teacher plan introduces one fall friend each week from September through November. Illustrated craft directions, a supplies list and a Disguise Idea Bank with 48 ideas make planning simple, even for a busy art center.
Finished crafts become a celebration. A class book cover turns everyone's writing into "Our Class Book of Fall Friends in Disguise," a two-page banner tops a bulletin board, and Guess What I Am? fold cards let classmates guess each disguise. Six award categories, including Most Creative, Funniest Disguise and Super Storyteller, plus blank templates, recognize every child.
The 38 black and white pages suit fall creative writing lessons, art centers, bulletin boards, morning work, homeschool, sub plans and early finishers.
