Level 2 moves to facts within 20 and organizes boards by strategy. Addition boards focus on doubles and near doubles, make 10, adding 9 and 10, and sums from 11 to 20. Subtraction boards practice subtracting 9 and 10, doubles facts, counting back 1, 2 or 3 and teen take-away, and eight mixed boards review everything.
A Fact Strategy Helpers page gives students tools when a fact is tricky, including a number line, ten-frame support and reminders for make 10 and think addition. A How to Play visual page helps young students start without a lot of teacher talk.
