Description

The Free Thankful Tree Craft is a Thanksgiving gratitude activity for kindergarten through 5th grade that combines writing, social-emotional learning and a classroom display. Students reflect on what they are thankful for, write it on leaves and build a tree that shows the whole class's gratitude.

A teacher guide offers three ways to use it. The One-Day Thankful Tree Craft fits a single afternoon, the 10-Day Gratitude Countdown spreads reflection across the weeks before Thanksgiving, and the Giant Class Thankful Tree Project turns everyone's leaves into a shared bulletin board.

Three tree templates and four styles of leaves let you match the craft to your students. Blank maple leaves suit drawing, primary-line leaves support early writers, lined oak leaves give older students room for full sentences, and prompt leaves help anyone who is stuck. Printable acorns, apples and pumpkins add decoration.

The writing component grows with your students. Younger children draw and write simple statements, while older students write organized paragraphs. Differentiated pages are included for K–1st, 2nd–3rd and 4th–5th, along with 24 gratitude prompt cards, 18 writing ideas, a paragraph planner and a 5-day gratitude journal.

A giant four-page class tree with an assembly guide and a two-page banner make the display simple to put together. A family letter sends gratitude leaves home, and a Gratitude Grower certificate closes the project. The 29 black and white US Letter pages work for writing centers, morning meeting, SEL lessons, bulletin boards, homeschool and sub plans.
