The Thanksgiving Table Talk Spoon Craft is a family gratitude project for kindergarten through 3rd grade. Students make a Talking Spoon and a Thankful Table Talk Book at school, then take both home so families can share conversations over a Thanksgiving meal. The person holding the spoon answers a question and then passes it along.
The spoon craft comes with paper templates, blank design-your-own templates and Talking Spoon tags in English and Spanish, and it works with either paper or wooden spoons. An assembly guide walks you through the steps.
The Table Talk Books hold 12 conversation prompts that invite children and families to talk about things they are thankful for, a favorite fall food, someone who helps them, a family memory, a kindness someone showed them, a family tradition and ways to help others. Level A suits K–1 with a large drawing box and primary lines, and Level B gives 2nd and 3rd graders more writing space. Half-page, mini and Spanish half-page versions are included, plus two pages where students write their own question.
Home-school connection is built in. A family letter and return page come in English and Spanish, along with a family sign-off page, so bilingual families can take part comfortably. After the holiday, students reflect on their conversations with leveled after-Thanksgiving writing pages.
A 5-day study plan, teacher notes and both color and low-ink black and white versions complete the 68 pages for Thanksgiving writing, gratitude lessons, SEL, speaking and listening, and ESL and ELL classrooms.
